After spending 15 months in the belly of his mother the giraffe is born. At birth, it is almost 7 feet long, weighing between 88 and 175 pounds, and already has two small tufts of black hair on the head, where the ossicles (which look like horns) will grow later.

You should know that if the giraffe is unable to stand up quickly, it may be abandoned by his mother. On the other hand, if everything goes well, he will stay with her until he is two and a half years old.
